NBN, 5G home broadband and 4G wireless, all providers, updated daily.
Australia's NBN is the fixed-line broadband infrastructure covering most of the country, delivered via FTTP (fibre to the premises), FTTN (fibre to the node), FTTC (fibre to the curb), HFC (hybrid fibre-coaxial), and fixed wireless. Retail plans are sold by ISPs on NBN Co's wholesale tiers: NBN 25 (~25 Mbps typical evening), NBN 50 (~50 Mbps), NBN 100 (~100 Mbps), NBN 250 (~250 Mbps), and NBN 1000 Ultrafast (~750 Mbps). The ACCC requires ISPs to publish average speeds during busy hours (7–11pm), the 'typical evening speed' shown on plan cards. For most households streaming 4K and video-calling, NBN 100 is the recommended starting point; 4+ simultaneous users benefit from NBN 250+. Compare plans by speed tier, contract term, included modem, and year-1 total cost (monthly × 12 + setup + modem).
